Another try at HDR
Today is a snowday. Might as well start off with the happiest news all week. During the snowday, I decided to experiment with tethering. Using a free tethering software from DIY photo bits, I shot out my window from my D40 straight into lightroom. After a little postproduction, this was the result, a whole lot better than my first try with the christmas tree.

Short Film
This is something I've been needing to do for a while for a photo/video class I'm taking. This is the final project, which needed at least 30 shots of 5 seconds at least each. I was inspired for this one by the music videos from Tool, so I was hoping to use a song other than one from them, but this song was the one that inspired the video, and therefore I had to use it. Little shorter than I had hoped, but here it is.

New Year's resolutions
I've started several blogs before, and never seem to be able to keep up with them. Each time I start I lose interest or forget to continue posting. Well, I'm telling you right now, not this time. I'm sticking with it this go-round. With that, I'll start off with my New Year's resolutions (mostly photo-related) for 2010.
1. Take My photography seriously this year, even more so than last
1.5 Shoot something at least once per week. There were too many times in 2009 that I got rusty from going weeks at a time without picking up my camera.
2. Learn flash photography (alienbees here I come)
3. Everything I stated above in my intro paragraph
4. Despite all this, remember my other obligations and have fun
Well, that pretty much sums it up. I guess I'll leave you with the most recent photos of mine, which means I need to get working on this weeks shots.

From a recent trip downtown. Cliche shot but cool all the same.

An HDR of my Christmas tree. HDR is something that has interested me lately and I wanted to try it out. This one didn't turn out so great, but nonetheless I'm now considering buying the photomatix pro software. I've just now realized as I write to this point that these two photos do not make me look very good. Well, we'll work on that this year won't we.
